Adoption Memoir Wins Awards!

Janelle Molony’s Debut Novel Wins in 2020

The memoir, Un-Adoptable? Faith Beyond Foster Care, puts a new foster mom and her family underneath a microscope during a time of immense stress and repeated disappointments.

As Janelle Molony’s debut novel, she is thrilled to be the recipient of bestselling badges and 5-star medallions, as well as earning the titles: contest winner, finalist, and honorable mention.

The book’s awards to date:

  • 2020 Arizona Literary Contest – Honorable Mention (Non-Fiction)
  • 2020 National Indie Excellence Award – Finalist (Self-Pub./NF)
  • Reader’s Favorite 5-Star Review
  • Amazon Bestselling Book on “Adoption”
  • WattPad Exclusive Pre-Publication Preview Ranked #5 in “Foster Care”
  • Scored 8.5/10 by BookLife Prize (in association with Publisher’s Weekly)

“I didn’t realize how this book would impact readers so strongly,” she writes. In response to the global pandemic, in March, 2020, Molony gave away nearly 100 copies of her e-book for free to interested families.

First published in January, the self-published paperback can now be purchased as a hardcover and e-book at Barnes & Noble, Target, Wal-Mart, Kobo, Amazon, Kindle, and OverDrive (and several international booksellers). “The new audiobook is phenomenal,” Molony reports. “Mallery Bosworth records it with passion and purpose. Have a tissue near and get ready to be glued to your listening device!”

The audiobook will be available in winter 2020 through an exclusive contract with Audible.

Readers have commented, “I don’t know how people do this without faith.” These sentiments are echoed in the book, albeit, with unpleasant trials and several major errors. It’s an intensely-paced emotional ride, and will move the heart of any reader.

Molony spent time this summer reading through some of the reviews and responding in appreciation to her readership. The humorous videos are posted on her YouTube channel (featured below) – even one for a lone 2-star rating!

As a result of the book and the blog, readers have asked for a second book, to which Molony replies, “There is another book on the way… but its a completely different story about my family. As for adoption-related stories, you’ll have to check out the blog because what’s happening post-adoption is my actual life!” She was even offered her own radio show recently, to which she had to decline for personal reasons.

Her next book follows an Immigrant from Victorian England and American pioneer, Sarah J. Rousseau, Molony’s g-g-g-grandmother, on a journey across the Great Plains while being completely wheelchair-bound. “It’s my passion project,” she calls it. She shares snippets of the tale on social media at IG: @RousseauProject and FB: @RousseauProject and has several extensive research articles under review for publication.
